"Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life" Confucius
I have been in practice for over 25 years specializing in a structural approach to therapeutic bodywork that includes neuromuscular and myofascial methods for people with biomechanical problems, injuries, chronic pain or functional problems. The techniques change tissue tension and remove restrictions balancing structures in your body allowing for treatment of a wide range of problems. I use an integrative assessment to prioritize the order and treatment methods to maximize your results and shorten the number of sessions you need to achieve your goals.
I was introduced to massage and manual therapy in 1997 after I was in a car accident that left me unable to move without severe shooting pains. The pain was so intense it was taking away my will to live. When my doctor suggested that I try massage therapy I had a hard time taking him seriously. After 15 minute session of neuromuscular therapy I could make small movements for the first time with out severe pain, hope was restored.
The technique was so productive that by my third visit I had contacted the school my massage therapist went to and started making plans for my new career. After graduating I started taking classes with nationally recognized leaders of treatment based massage such as Judith Walker Delany and Whitney Lowe. After completing my studies with them I continued my studies with some of the people that inspired them including Dr. Kerry D'Ambrigio, Dr. Leon Chaitow, Dr Steven Sanet, Dr. Sharon Wiselfish, Dr Bruno Chickly and others. I have attended Somerset School of Massage Therapy, Healing Hands Institute, Upledger Institute, Barell Institute, D'Ambrigio Institute, the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy, Osteopathic Health and Wellness Institute and many others. I've studied in 13 states and Canada taking over 4,000 hours of training with over 3,000 hours in advanced techniques. I have also been a teachers assistant for many of the techniques and methods that I use. This gives me unique training and experience that can used to help you.
